Production Update + BackerKit surveys are coming!

Hi Backers,

We have a timing update and are starting to collect addresses!

Production update

First, production has taken a little longer than expected because the first batch of the glass crystals came in out of spec. The entire lot had to be reworked, adding about 10 days. Nudge is now tracking to be shipped out the week of 11/14. However, we are going to try our best to make up some time once the pieces arrive!

As a thank you for your patience, we'd like to offer $5 off shipping. For the U.S. this means shipping will be free. We really appreciate all of your support as we navigate a few unexpected delays.

BackerKit surveys - we need your address!

Over the next few hours, you will be receiving an email from us with a special link to our BackerKit survey. It’s essential to respond to the survey as quickly as possible, we can not fulfill your rewards without this information.

You will receive the survey to the same email address you use to log into your Kickstarter account.

Please note the following:

• If you used Facebook to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the same email you use for your Facebook account.
• If you do not receive the email after we send out the survey AND you signed in with an Apple account through Kickstarter, your email address might be a private relay email address. If this happens, we can help locate your survey and update your email address. Just message us through Kickstarter with your Backer ID # found on your Kickstarter confirmation. You can learn more about your email hiding for your Apple ID here. 
• If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please email us at [email protected]

When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond:

• You do not need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey.
• Answer the questions about your reward preferences, provide shipping information, and purchase add-on items if you like.
• You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email!
   

After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses until Monday, November 7th.

• If you need to review your information or pledge status, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under “Lost your survey?” on our BackerKit project page at https://nudge.backerkit.com.
• We will close the surveys and get final counts on 11/7.

Golden Samples Look Beautiful!

Hi everyone!

We have great news - we’ve seen the Nudge housing “golden samples” and they look awesome. We'll follow up shortly with photos!

 Here is the production schedule:

• Oct 7-14th: Final parts production
• Oct 15-21st: Parts ship to our workshop
• Oct 22 - 26th: Final assembly
• Oct 27th: Ship Nudge!

We know we’re a bit behind schedule so we want to say again how thankful we are for your patience and understanding as we worked through quality control.

Drop Testing

Here’s a little behind the scenes on our initial sample drop testing from a couple weeks ago. Drew drop tested Nudge from three feet against wood and concrete. Honestly, it's a little painful watching something so beautiful smash against concrete but it's important to test!

The second video is Hanna testing our packaging with Nudge inside. Please note, these videos are just a short overview of a few hours of testing. We were pleased with the results of both tests.

Address Collection

Heads up! Next week we will send out a “backer survey” to collect your address, shipping costs, and U.S. tax if applicable (only for California). This survey will come from Backer-Kit NOT Kickstarter. We’ll remind you about this survey in our next backer update.

A quick Update

Hi all,

This one will be short and sweet as we are waiting on samples for answers. However, since we are halfway through September (scary thought) we wanted to at least give you a little check-in.

In a nutshell, we’re still troubleshooting quality issues on the protective coating for Nudge. We have to say, it’s very close, but not yet fully up to our cosmetic standards. Coating aside, everything else is ready.

The good news is our coating supplier has been working hard to improve quality, and made changes to their process that have reportedly solved the defects we saw. We’re expecting to receive a new round of what’s called “golden samples” from them next week - a round of samples that are supposed to be excellent. If all goes according to plan, these samples will be the proof point we need to green light coating all the Nudges. Once the samples arrive, we should have a much better idea of timing, and will send out a solidified schedule and backer surveys.

Quality is really important to us, and we really appreciate your patience. More photos, info, and dates coming soon! Fingers crossed the golden samples look great.
